The Southeast district is jumping for joy after the football team won their game against Crestview 27-21. The Pirates are now 2-3. Athletic director and coach Patrick Youel said his main goal this season is, “to win every game moving forward.” It’s a win every game situation in order to make it to the playoffs. The team is hoping to alter their momentum and create a winning mentality amongst the players. In order to do this, unity is a must among the team. Youel stated “There is a lot of care for each other on this team from last year.”
Moving forward, the team needs to focus on the second half of the game. Several times the Pirates have been ahead going into half time, but lose their drive and energy in the third quarter. Youel stated, “The second half has been really tough for us this year but…” has become a top priority to fix for the remainder of this 2026 season.
The Pirates face a tough opponent today as they take the field against the Garfield G-Men. The team will be led by seniors Nathan Muccino, Daniel Clint, Aidan McCann, Cameron Fultz, Tristen Finch, Bruce Nelson, Josh Donovan, and Nathanael Rivera. Come support the team at freedom field at 7:00 pm.
